Welcome to our Cyber Protection package selection website.
This page offers suggested options to install some onsite equipment that will allow complete backups of computers and laptops and more.
While the best approach to Cyber Protection is through a mix of technologies such as Onsite and Cloud backups, this is a cost-effective solution for tighter budgets with no ongoing monthly costs.
The solution includes a NAS or Network Attached Storage device.
– A NAS is like a large USB hard drive, except it is accessible on the network for all computers and not just the one it is plugged into.
– A NAS also runs like a small server, so shared folders can be setup, apps installed that have added functionality etc. (for example you can install apps that allow you to run a web server or a media server or perhaps setup a home security network video recorder (NVR) and link appropriate security cameras to the NAS to record.
– A NAS can also link to Office 365 and using the included software you can sync OneDrive files and folders to and from the NAS. The software on specific models of NAS we have chosen also includes running full backups or file and folder backups only, of computers on your network, allowing for password protected backups onsite in case of malware, viruses, or hard drive failures to the NAS, which is waht our solutions are for.
– Normally you would need to purchase additional software per computer to run as the backup software and then point it to a USB drive or NAS as the storage option.
If you are looking for a Small Business or Consumer, Cyber Protection option and wanting a cost-effective way to protect your computers, against hacking, viruses, malware, hard drive failures and more, we have designed created this Backup and Protection package solution page to assist with the best options to protect against these things while keeping costs relatively low and as a once off cost, which includes preparation, configuration and even remote setup for you.
We customise the solution to your needs depending on the number of computers and functionality your would like out of your NAS and backup, also future proofing things so it allows expansion if you require more storage.
– Starting with the 2 Bay NAS (takes up to two hard drives) you can install a single hard drive to keeps costs down lower and backup to that, or if more critical, install two drives and mirror them (RAID1) so your data is safe on both hard drives, to protect against one drive failing.
o In the event a single drive fails, you simple replace that drive with a new one of the same size and it resyncs or mirrors the data across again.
o You can also use both drives as separate storage, doubling the space if backups are less critical.
– If you require much more storage or expansion, you either buy larger drives at a higher cost, or add more drives of the same size to the NAS (using the 4 Bay NAS) and then expand the array (RAID5).
o An example of this is if you had 4 x 5TB drives installed in the 4 bay NAS, this would give you around 13TB of storage (3 x approx. 4.5TB with one drive spare) or 4 x 10TB drives, around 27TB of storage (3 x 9TB plus a spare).
– We can provide you with a larger NAS if required also, please contact us for more information on this.
So imagine if all of your family photos from when your kids were born, or those wedding photos etc. were all stored on your computer and then the hard drive died. Don’t laugh, this has happened to us and plenty of others. The normal recovery cost of trying to get data back from a failed USB hard drive or USB stick is at leat $1700 as a minimum and can take weeks (unless you pay double for higher priority) with no guarantee of success
NOTE: If you have a USB drive connected to a computer to backup too and your computer gets hit with a cryptovirus or locked down from a hacker, that backup, unless password protected is Useless!
